1 lb. sultanas
1 lb currants
¼ mixed peel
½ lb Butter
4 eggs
½ lb sugar
1 lb Flour
baking powder
mixed spice
stir the butter ½ lb till it comes to a cream
then put in eggs / well beaten with the ½ pint milk
then peel (¼ lb mixed) currants + sultans (1 lb of each)
add 1b Flour
then scatter 2 teaspoonfuls of baking powder (Pearse & Duffs) + a teaspoonful of mixed spice –
