Darling – I want a letter from you very much I have only had one since you left except the steamer one & wish so to know how you are & all of you & if you have settled les affaires yet & all gone as you wd like. It must be a comfort being with the brothers & knowing they do all for the best for their dear sister whom they love . do tell me about it & if you have any idea of coming back to ol·d England & those who love you here. We are having summer weather here now almost too warm these days for I am sure it [?] & up to 2 days ago they have had such snow in Herefordshire & Wales [?]. I have just had oh dear here interrupted & cant remember for the life of me what I had just had. I do forget so dreadfully. Poor Enid has had measles for the 2nd time & was so bored she was wonderfully little ill only her eyes rather weak is the quarantine the [?]! quite well now coming up to her aunt early next month for 2 balls I believe . Poor Dorea Stanhope is very lame & seen various specialists & they it has to do with the big muscle of the leg not having grown down sufficiently – she may go about walking 2 or 3 miles but I am afraid the treatment will be very painful I am so sorry for her. Did you ever see Mrs. Scudamore who lived in Ireland – her lovely Castle Shane was burnt to the ground. No doubt by the Sinn Feiners & at 7-30 they had to fly in their night dresses from the castle she her small child nurse & maid not a stitch of clothes had she left poor dear & historical old things all gone & furniture except a little in her boudoir she is coming to live in Herefordshire now having 2 places there Oh dear Kathleen fancy our beautiful Holme Lacy sold again & to a speculator by name Tebb & he is selling the farms to the farmers two have bought there & the land for building purposes crul isnt it? I have been miserable about it that lovely Historical place what an ending to it. Poor Mr . Macdonald has been so ill from Flebitis & in a home for weeks – now in Devonshire for some time & the niece [?] has gone off to Scotland to [?] cinema work ..,;i I am sorry for as it does not improve people to associate with such awful creatures as I am told they are [?]. How is yr Mary I do hope keeping very well & strong & is liking being out in those parts do give her my love & dear Jack too I have only seen Frank once I think but do give him a kind message from me. You know I am always the same wheeled into the parlor the room where I am by day – have so many kind friends & flowers!!but it is wearisome at times I cant walk will I ever God only knows but I must. Adele had got very worn out with all her work & so was sent off to Cap d’Ail for 2 or 3 weeks y/l did her good & she looks much better & I hope will not take up much work again.
