½ lb. treacle
½ lb flour
¼ lb suet
a teaspoonful of carbonate of soda
1 or 2 oz of candied peel
a tea cupful of milk
first put the soda with salt, flour & peel & rub all together then mix the milk & the treacle & pour in the ingredients.
boil in a mould 4 hours
