Hard frost. Indians drunk – Called
Constables who arrested two. Held court
at 10 – Went with Sergt McCall to see
Chisholm & Yates lots – directed Sergt
McCall to suspend work in consequence
of the depth of the snow. Mail arrived
by Mack – English papers but no letters
heard of the Bishops arrival – Pringle & White
came to consult about Coes ditch, Called
on Charles with reference to H.B.C. land claim
of which he knows nothing.

Pringle started to Victoria in
Greys boat to Westminster – Went to
Cornish Bar in H.B.C. Bateau &
walked home – visited the Bar &
Coes ditch – Found Constable Chisholm
very ill on my return – gave him
laudnum & Brandy. Went to the
Fort in the evening.

of two Indians during the storm of last night
