March Ash Wednesday 10 1886
A lovely day – Carry & Puss
went to Church at the Cathedral.
The Admiral & Garforth [*1] lunched
with us – & played Tennis – the
first game of the season. Mrs
McLean of the Pelican & Clan &
Brian Drake made up the party.
Thursday 11
Fine day looking rather like
rain.
Green came out to look
at piles at boat house – he
remained to breakfast, but
did nothing about the piles.
Arranged with Clark to put
in an extra pile at N.W. corner
but unfortunately after pile driver
had been taken to town.
Notes:
[*1] Lieutenant Frank Alexander
Garforth (1859-1901),
member of the Royal Navy
