Smooth passage – Westminster at
3.30 – Edmonds, McTiernan
& Armstrong called. Port Hammond
at 6 PM. Went on board the “Eva”
where Gus Wright planted young Ainsworth & himself, much to our discomfort.

Tuesday 18

Left Hammond at 5. OC. Yale
at 11- Lunched at John McLenans
C Rhodes & Mr Simons joined
the party & paid the workmen on the line – reached Ashcroft at
8.30. – put up at Barnes &
Evans hotel.
Mr McLeod joined my party
at Yale.
