My own dearest wife

I have recd this moment your letter of the 14th Sept. with enclosure from Puss. It grieves & troubles me to hear that you are worrying yourself & not enjoying yourself as I hoped & believed you would. About your coming – if I said that I was not disappointed at your not coming & that I should not miss you immensely, it would not be true – but as you say it is so desirable on Jacks acct I made up my

to telegraph you as I had done, to stay. Do not worry more but try to enjoy yourself & make dear Kit happy. I hope you are getting eerything you want for yourself & for her. It is almost dark. I only send this line to let you know your letter reached me in good time. My love to you both

Your affect [loving?] husband

P. O’Reilly

I write again tomorrow if possible
