Peter to Mary Augusta, Penticton, April 24, 1875

Penticton
24th April 1875

My dearest Pop.

You see I have not forgotten my promise to write to you, and I hope you have not forgotten your promise to be a very good girl while I am away.

I gave the doll to Georgie’s baby as a present from you, with which she is greatly delighted, both she and Georgie sent their loves to you.

Do you keep Mr. John Wabbs in order? You will I know have a great deal to tell when I come back. You must take great care of yourself and not run about much, so that you may be shiny and able to go about with me, and be sure that Mamma can give a good report of you.

I have only one letter from Mamma since I left, I am of course anxious to know how you all are, and what you have been doing.

I hope Mamma has taken you to see your Granny, and also your Aunt, and Uncle.

Give them my love, and of course to Puss, Frank & Mrs. Wabbs and with a great deal for my dear little girl.

I remain

Your affectionate father

P. O’Reilly
