Sept. Sunday 26 1886

Fine bright day, but cold.
Green, Grant, &c went up the
river in small boat accompanied
by 2 Indians in a canoe.
Read & wrote some letters.
The party returned in the boat
at 6-PM. with 17 Ducks & 1
Snipe.

Monday 27

Fine day went up the river
& defined the reserve including
Village & burial ground.
Generally light sandy soil
but good for garden purposes.
Indian Peter went after 3
goats which we saw on the
mountain but did not fall in
with them.
